President Benigno Aquino III showed his support for Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Manuel “Mar” Roxas II and LP vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo during the “Daang Matuwid” campaign rally at the Dasmariñas National High School – Main on March 10.
Aquino said the people should entrust their votes to whoever will continue the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), the anti-poverty project of the Aquino administration that has already benefited 50,800 households in Cavite since 2010.
He also trumpeted the government’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) infrastructure projects, such as the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX) and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).
Meanwhile, Aquino promised that residents in Cavite would soon benefit from the LRT Line 1 South Extension Project, which will link Baclaran to Bacoor, Cavite, and the LRT Line 6 that will run from Bacoor to Dasmariñas.
LP senatorial candidates Yna Ambolodto, Leila De Lima, Franklin Drilon, Risa Hontiveros, Mark Lapid, Ralph Recto, and Joel Villanueva were also present during the campaign rally.
According to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Cavite is Luzon’s top vote-rich province with at least 1.8 million registered voters.
